Connecting to the UNICORE Testgrid

The UNICORE Testgrid offers a very easy access to a full featured UNICORE demo site for new and interested users. The Testgrid allows users to create, submit and monitor grid jobs and workflows. The Testgrid includes the latest version of all components. A certificate and user account will be created automatically.

Please note: the lifetime of your certificate/account is 30 days, as it should only be used for testing purposes. The Testgrid resources are limited and only small jobs (short duration, low resource consumption) should be submitted.

The testgrid can be used with any of the UNICORE clients: you can download and install the UNICORE Rich Client (URC) or the UNICORE commandline client (UCC). Alternatively, the UNICORE Portal can be used with your web browser.

You can connect to the testgrid as follows:
For URC, select "First steps/UNICORE Testgrid" from the Welcome screen, which can always be opened by selecting "Help/Welcome" from the main menu. For UCC, run "ucc connect-to-testgrid" and follow the instructions.

To use the Portal, point your Web browser to https://omiiei.zam.kfa-juelich.de:8443/portal and use Switch to registration to register with the portal.
Registration will take about 30 seconds. Please note: the pop-up windows showing the successful registration will currently only go away with a mouse click.
